in our papers we have no information about him. But sometimes people left Germany without papers like a passport. And in 1848 we had a small revolution in Germany. So it can be that he left Germany for political reasons. Some people left Germany as a crew member of a ship. So we can't find a passenger list with their name.
Falk is right that most of the emigrants of Oldenburg left Germany out of Bremen / Bremerhaven. But we also have a small group leaving from other harbours like Hamburg, Antwerpen and Le Havre. And we also had a harbour of our own with emigrants, Brake in Oldenburg.
If you would send me your datas about the three emigrants from your Vodde family with wifes and children I would take that people for our database.

I have 2 questions: Are the household numbers in the 1852 census
actual addresses? If so are they still valid today?
My GF was from Anderten Amt Hoya. In the 1852 census the household
(for the lack of a better term) number was 13. Yesterday when I was
trying unusual things on my computer, I entered on Google Maps, 13
Anderten Hoya Germany, then 12 Anderten Hoya Germany, and continued the
same Anderten Hoya Germany for the numbers up and down from 13. I
expected all of my entries to be located at the same spot. However, to
my wonder, the entries ran along the road like I would expect street
addresses to do.
To me this seems to be possible, but not plausable. Any thoughts?

In 1852 the numbering was up to date. Since then there was at least
the change
from sheer house numbering to streets and house numbers.
You will have to contact the local archives to ask to have the 1852
addresses
translated into postal addresses of today.
