My attempt: Christ that is my Life and in Dying my Reward

Translation:

Christ is my life
and dying is my reward.

Your question should have read "Catholic or Protestant" because "Lutheran"
is only one of many Protestant churches.

As to your question, I would say that this is a Catholic phrase.
