My attempt: Christ that is my Life and in Dying my Reward

              My translation website indicates :"Christ that is My life and Die my profit", so I'd say your attempt says it better.................Dick

Your question should have read "Catholic or Protestant" because "Lutheran"
is only one of many Protestant churches.

As to your question, I would say that this is a Catholic phrase.
