Translation help needed

Can someone help with this headstone inscription please?

Christus der ist

Mein Leben und

Sterben Mein Gewinn

My attempt: Christ that is my Life and in Dying my Reward

Janice Thiele Seiler

Hi Janice,
My translation website indicates :"Christ that is My life and Die my profit", so I'd say your attempt says it better.................Dick

Translation:

Christ is my life
and dying is my reward.

Dear List,

Likely another silly post from Barbie-Lew.

Anyway,

When a loved one dies .......

Catholic .........

Fortified with the sacraments of the Holy Mother Church...

Lutheran ..............

Asleep in Jesus...

Barbie,
Your question should have read "Catholic or Protestant" because "Lutheran"
is only one of many Protestant churches.

As to your question, I would say that this is a Catholic phrase.

Perhaps it is a quote from the Apostle Paul to the Philippians (1:21):
"For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain" KJV
