Towns Oberhausen, usv

Please, in what Germanic state were the towns Wiedischhausen, Oberhausen and
Raubach (Kr. Neuwied) located? The three towns were close together; our
ancestors, father and son, lived in Wiedischhausen and Oberhausen and
apparently attended church in Raubach.

A Raubach is at map location Hd 45, so apparently these towns are now in
Rhineland-Palatinate, but I am unsure.

Is there an on-line discussion group for that state?

How best does one locate the postal code for Raubach?

Where is now a good on-line translation service?

Hi Bob,

You're right about Rheinland. Wiedischhausen is a tiny village south
east of Raubach (more east than south). I don't see Oberhausen.
The LDS has Evangelical church records from Raubach.

I've been in that area. I have great-parents born southwest of Bonn.
It is amazing how densely populated it is there.

Hi

Thank you.

The LDS records for Raubach do not cover the time frame that I need.

My people came from all over what is now Germany. I have visited ancestral
towns (and many cousins) in Harsum, March, Shlde, Bad Lippspringe, Dieburg,
Reichelsheim, Freiburg/B., Buchenbach, Bockenem, Hildesheim, Osnabrck, etc.
I had a great-grandpa from Berlin, but have not been there.

Hello Bob,

you are right: Raubach and Wiedischhausen are in the German Land (state) Rheinland-Pfalz. Raubach is situated about 25 km north of Koblenz and Wiedischhausen about 5 km east of Raubach. With Oberhausen it is more difficult there are about 25 Oberhausen in Germany. The biggest is a city of 220.000 inhabitants in the
Ruhr-area, the nearest to Raubach and Wiedischhausen is a small village, now part of the city of Dreikirchen, about 30 km south-east of Raubach. They are all situated in the Westerwald (West forest).

The postal codes are: 56316 Raubach, 56271 Wiedischhausen, 56414 Dreikirchen (Oberhausen).

There is also a mailing-list for the Westerwald region, but only in German. But the informations of this mailing list are also available in English. The Url is:
