Town location

I looked up Speyer and found it was in Rhinehessen today. Would the boundaries for the 1800's made it in Bavaria at that time? . the naturalzation papers say that he gives up his aliegence to Ludwik 2nd King of Bavaria. I don't know if that helps. I did try another site for the town and tried all varieations but I can not find Schneichen. district of Spier and Canton Berzaber. I found that it was interesting that it was worded Canton of Berzaber as I have only heard of Cantons being regions in Switzerland. However he says is alliegence is to Bararia so I am confused.
Any historians out there that could sort this out?

Sandi,

Speyer is a significant city in Rhein Pfalz. In the 1800's Speyer was part
of Bavaria. There is a Catholic Diocez Archive in Speyer plus a Lutheran
one as well. We have visited Speyeer and the Catholic Diocez Archiv.

Hi
Thankyou for the info !
