Can someone tell me the location of the following towns: Mollenser and
Petze. Also are they located in the old Kingdom of Hannover? Would there be
someway or someone to contact to find out if an ancestor came from either of
these two towns in the 1850's? Reply direct to -- _wbl435@aol.com_

there is a little village south of Hildesheim with the name Möllensen and not far away another village with the name Petze. Both were located in the former Kingdom of Hannover. You can find them with google maps.
In a US census record, instead of birthplace listed as
Hanover,
it says WITTINGEN. I thought this might have been a
misspelling of
Wurttemburg, but now I think it was a correct entry.
Is this city far from Hannover and how would I find
out church birth records for
Fridericke Mll or Moell born 3 Sept. 1827.
There is the city of Hannover, but there also was the Kingdom of
Hannover. Most census records with the name of Hannover means the whole area
and not just the town.
Wittingen is a town southeast of Uelzen. The LDS have a few church
records from Wittingen:
Germany, Preußen, Hannover, Wittingen - Church records:
Kirchenbuchduplikat, 1810-1812 Evangelische Kirche Wittingen (Kr.
Isenhagen)
If you live near a LDS center, you can go there and order the film for
that item.
You might look here for names of the churches in the Wittingen area:
Good luck,

Check the villages covered by the books by Heinrich Porth. He has
transcribed many of the Parish records in and around Uelzen (where I
research). These books are in German, however, they are set up to be able
to be easily ready by a person not knowing Germany (uses the standard German
symbols for birth, married, death, baptism and burial). It sometimes adds
additional information like occupation or if they are in government service
-- but just keying the words into Google works well to give you the 'gest'
of what the words mean.
Heinrich sometimes has copies still available for sale. For people not on
the Euro monetary system, he has sold them through ebay.com ... Using
PayPal.com which will send the payment in Euros, therefore, you do not
experience the additional $15 just for the cash conversion.
