My grandfather on my mother's side according to what record I can find came
from Hannover. From the date he arrived in America I think he was referring
to the Kingdom of Hannover. I found a record for an August Wendt where
everythign matches what I know of him. That record says he came from the town of
Petze, departed from Bremen, arrived on 6-29-1852 on the ship Post. Was the
town of PETZE by chance in the old Kingdom of Hannover? Thanks to all for
your information.
