To List - Also Q for Werner Honcomp - Clinton County Illinois?

Dear List,

Been reading Hannover-L faithfully. Having email troubles. Hope this note gets through. Hotmail takes forever to download..and times out..tried to change my email to my MSN account..but I haven't been able to sign into to msn....

Well anyway,

Interesting data (I think) can be found at:

Dear Werner,

Was looking at your webpage:

http://www.honkomp.de/genealogie.htm

Nice webpage.

Got me pondering. The Clinton County Illinois webpage above lists (I think) similar surname to yours.

HinKamp, Hankap? Holtkamp??, and HonKamp.

Horenkamp??? (I think there was someone looking for Hoenerkamp??)

Huelskamp?? (farfetched I suppose...)

Anyhow,

I noticed in your database:

Descendants of Johan Hoenkamp the surname Feldhaus, (my interest). Also Fichter....also the name Knelage?

At Calvary Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo. I noted the following persons buried in Lot 0371.

422514 CALVARY MARILYN E WILLIAMS F 11/6/1981 33 04 032
211077 CALVARY MARY E EVERETT F 2/17/1981 50 04 032
211071 CALVARY CURRY EVERETT M 3/28/1980 79 04 032
471161 CALVARY MOLLIE E EVERETT F 12/27/1997 91 04 032
451947 CALVARY GERALDINE M FICHTER F 7/21/1993 72 04 032 *
213812 CALVARY JOSEPH R FELDHAUS M 12/12/1981 72 04 032 *
472164 CALVARY GENEVIEVE FELDHAUS F 3/24/1998 83 04 032 *
487223 CALVARY GEORGE H KOENEMANN M 1/31/2001 85 04 032
279043 CALVARY ESTELLE M KOENEMANN F 7/27/1977 57 04 032

I think the Joseph R. Feldhaus noted here is the son of Joseph Bernard Feldhaus and Anna Sophia Fosage...and I think Joseph Bernard Feldhaus is brother to my ancestor Martin Feldhaus. I have further investigating to do as I could be mistaken.

What strikes me about the Clinton County data is this:

Marriages:

HINKAMP Herman to FELDHAUS Josephine 2/8/1899

HINKAMP Bernard to FELDHAUS Carolina 9/22/1903

The Clinton County Illinois data strikes me because....
(And I may be way off.....)

The Shrine of St. Joseph Church records a baptism 21 Nov 1858 for an Ida Marie Heitkamp, born 17 Nov 1858.

Catharina [GOTTEPELER] & Fredrich Rudolph Heitkamp recorded as parents. The baptismal Sponsers on record were Bernard Heinrich Heitkamp & Margaretha KUHLAGE.

1880 Census indicates a Catherine Heitkamp wife of F.R. Heitkamp was born Prussia.

The surname Heitkamp/Heinkamp/Heidkamp?? appears in other records at St. Joseph (Shrine) including (I believe) sponsers my Catherine A. Grotepahler-Feldhaus siblings. **** However I am confused on the spelling.. HeinKamp/Hiedkamp/Hienkamp...???

My Catherine A. Grotepahler***was b. 9 Feb. 1863. She married Martin Feldhaus***12 Jan 1888 at St. Joseph's Shrine.

Groom - HEITKAMP, Friederich Rudolph
~W. of Maria Adelheid MUSTERMANN
Groom Parents - Not listed
Bride - GROTE [GROTEPEGA ?], Catharina ****
Bride parents- Jodoci**& Ida KUHLAGE
Witness-Joseph Heitkamp
Date - 15 Nov 1855

I am thinking the bride is Catharina Grotepahler
(various spellings)***could be 3G great Aunt of mine....lol

I think this Catharina Grotepahler is sister of my 3GGF Franz Grotepahler who married Theresia [Bissimeier.]

And perhaps those Heinkamps/Heitkamps are my distant cousins.

I have been wondering if Feldhaus from Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky might connect...though also probobly a bit far fetched...

Anyhow surnames at the Clinton County Illinois website are very similar to Surnames on this Board...and also many seem similar to those at:

http://www.honkomp.de.

Hi Barbie,

Did your Feldhaus come from Haselünne? Maybe I got mixed up with
someone else. There was a Feldhaus in a wedding in Cincinnati in the mid
1850's with some connection to my Gügelmeyers.

I have a great-great grandmother from Haselünne. You have probably seen
this:
http://www.studiengesellschaft-emsland-bentheim.de/Frames/frame2.html
There are a ton of Feldhaus people listed there.

I saw some Haselünne records when I was in Osnabrück, but I wasn't able
to get all I wanted to find.
