My husband's maternal grandfather, Adolph Kellner, came from Bischweiler,
Germany (Alsace-Lorraine) in 1873 with his family. He was only one year old
and the youngest of eight children (7 boys and 1 girl). His parents names
were:
Samuel Kellner, born 1827 in Hesse, Germany
Madalene Schaeffer born in 1834
They settled in Rockville, Connecticut and my husband has many Kellner
relatives.
Adolph married a woman from Sachen-Anhalt and I have yet to search for her
family.
I have done some genealogy on the Kellner family and was informed that they
are mostly from Lingolsheim, which is on the southwest outskirts of
Strasbourg in northern Alsace. The Schaeffer family were mostly from
Bischweiler.
