Henrich Gottfried Thiel (later Teel) born 28 SEPT 1728, baptized Burbach
Lutheran 10 OCT 1728. Went to Philadelphia on the ship Edinburgh in 1753, later
settled in Warren Co., NJ where he is buried. Several passengers with him
on the Edinburgh were from the neighboring town of Daaden. Several other
Daaden residents were on the ship Rowand, that arrived in Philadelphia 3 days
earlier than the Edinburgh. One on the Rowand passengers from Daaden was Martin
Diehl. I am trying to establish a link between Henrich Thiel and Martin
Diehl, who also both lived in the 1760s in Northampton Co., PA. Are there any
records from Burbach for the 1750s of emigrants asking permission to leave?
Has anyone worked on a genealogy of the large number of Thiel families of
Burbach? There are three Martin Thiel baptisms in the early 1720s in Burbach
