Hello everyone,
My name is Hakan Stangenberg living in Sweden and I have been doing family research for some years.
What we know about our ancestors is that, Johann and Mathias Stangenberg emigrated to Sweden from somewhere in Preussen during
the second part of 1600 (1650 – 1700). We also know that their father was called Hans. Johan died in Stockholm 1721 and Mathias in 1717.
A lot of research via the net has not given anything more.
Recently I came over a document made by Reinhard Stangenberg in 1980,
Altpreußische Geschlechterkunde
1980 Familienarchiv Nr 71, Stangenberg
via a colleague, Gerd Bremer, using MyHeritage datbase. As Reinhard was born in 1911 I strongly believe that he has passed away!
This Family tree made by Reinhard is a “simple” backwards tree with - more or less - only one child per parents is shown.
That was probably enough for Reinhard as he then covered his ancestors.
There is one Hans Stangenberg in Reinhards tree and this Hans was born in Goldap 1618 and died in Goldap 1694. He married Anna in 1640 and they got Andreas
the same year. Then Anna died in 1644 and Hans married Catharina in 1645. That’s what I know about Hans.
Only the one son, Andreas is shown in the tree.
My wonderings now – did Hans and Anna or/and Hans and Catharina get any more children and if so who were they?
Hans could very much be the father of Johann and Mathias – but is he?
Please if anyone have any more information about Hans Stangenberg and his family or any other the details during the time period 1600 - 1700, I would very greatful.
Or if someone can suggest me how to proceed.
Many thanks!
Håkan
