The glauburg connection: from texas to amsterdam to haarlem to frankfurt:

Due to many wonderful people helping me with my GLAUBURG problem. Here is where we have ended up. As most of it has been in the Nederlands, it is not possible to go further there. Our search has brought us back to Frankfurt. All information has been extracted from Archives, central registries, church records, and census records. Would appreciate any help, insight or just plain comment...smile..
thanks nancy

I am now looking for the origin of Heinrich Ludwig von Glauburg born aprox 1750's.In 1817 he was listed as "governor of a poorhouse in Frankfurt" the father of Heinrich Ludwig von Glauburg, whom was born on 9 Oct and baptised on 11 Oct 1789 in Wenzenheim im Laubenheim, Preussen, and Heinrich's mother Susanna Streuber, (daughter of reverend Jacob Streuber), living in Bockenheim in 1817.

The information was taken from the marriage supplement of the Heinrich ludwig von glauburg born 11 Oct 1789.

This is what we now know:

Descendants of Heinrich Ludwig von Glauburg
1 Heinrich Ludwig von Glauburg. Heinrich died after 19 November 1817 in Frankfurt am Main (Prussia, Germany)?. Heinrich had a relationship with (was married to?) Susanna Streuber. Susanna died after 19 November 1817 in Bockenheim (Frankfurt am Main, Prussia, Germany).

Child of Heinrich and Susanna:
Heinrich Ludwig Georg (Lodewijk) (van) Glomberg a.k.a. Glauburg, born on 10 October 1789 in Weuzenhem/Lautenheim/Frankfurt (Prussia, Germany). Follows at 1.1.

1.1 Heinrich Ludwig Georg (Lodewijk) (van) Glomberg a.k.a. Glauburg was born on 10 October 1789 in Weuzenhem/Lautenheim/Frankfurt (Prussia, Germany), son of Heinrich Ludwig von Glauburg (ref. 1) and Susanna Streuber. Lodewijk died on 5 June 1873 in Stad Ommen (Overijssel, The Netherlands), 83 years old. (Religion: hersteld luthers; Old Lutheran?)

Helena was born on 14 October 1829 Amsterdam, daughter of Magiel Coeterier and Geertruij van Eldijk. Helena died on 13 July 1854 in Amsterdam, 23 years old. On 31 January 1851 Helena filed a divorce suit against Hendrik. Apparently Hendrik’s whereabouts were unknown to her: a notification was published in a newspaper on 11 February 1851 summoning Hendrik to appear in Court on 11 April 1851.
On 18 November 1851 another notification was published; the Court passed a sentence on 21 September 1851 during a Court session on 24 November 1851 that witnesses produced by Helena will be interrogated to prove the facts Hendrik was apparently accused of. A publication on 5 February 1852 proves that the pending case was taken to Court on 6 April 1852 for a verdict on plaintiff’s request. Divorce was sentenced on 19 April 1852 and that too was published in a newspaper. Hendrik’s whereabouts were still unknown.

Population Registry Amsterdam 1851-1868

From ? until 12 January 1851 Johannes Hansman and Anna Maria van der Lelie (married) are living on Gedempte Slootje 8 in Amsterdam with widower Glomberg and one child, Hendrik van der Lelie (* 1850).

On 12 January 1851 they move to Keizersstraat 17, where in 1852 Lodewijk Georg van der Lelie is born.
On 8 November 1852 the widower Glomberg, Anna Maria (single), Hendrik and Lodewijk Georg van der Lelie (both single too, of course) move to the Lijnbaansgracht 15.
Late March 1853 all four of them move to the Rozenstraat 28 (marital status remains unchanged).
Late May 1853 Glomberg moves to the Korte Leidsedwarsstraat, one month later followed by Anna Maria and her two boys; on that address they are listed as married (result of their marriage in January 1854).
In May 1854 the family moves to the Derde Leliedwarsstraat.
Then there is a gap in the Population registry, because the next address (from 14 January 1858 onwards) is the Tuinstraat where the family consists of Hendrik Ludwig G. Glomberg (*1789, shoemaker), Anna Maria van der Lelie (* 1818), son Henry Glomberg (* 1823) and his probable half-siblings Henderik (* 1850), Lodewijk Georg (* 1852), Anna Susanna (* 1854 - † 1858) and Geertruida Catherina (* 1857).
Sometime between May and August 1854, the Hendrik Lodewijk G. Glomberg (*1789, shoemaker), his wife Anna Maria and their two little boys and also his son Hendrik (*1823) lived on the Korte Prinsengracht 37. Son Henry had divorced Helena Coeterier in April 1852 and apparently moved in with his father’s family.
1864: Z298/1048 Hendrik (*1823) resides on Utrechtsestraat.
1869: K 370/1612, Hendrik is mentioned in index with second wife and son, no card found.
Population’s Registry 1874: only Hendrik’s wife Hendrika Wilhelmina Migchelsen is mentioned on card G3/51 and 38/189 and GG 222.
