Hello,
I am seeking information on Margaretha "Margaret" KOEHLER and her husband
Friedrich PISTEL who had two daughters immigrate from Germany to the US. Those
daughters were my great great grandmother, Katherina PISTEL, and her sister
Johanna Barbara PISTEL. I believe they immigrated separately to the US about
the 1860s or a little later. I believe Johanna Barbara Pistel settled in the
Baltimore, MD, area near some of her mother's relatives. I have heard that
Katherina's and Barbara's mother Margaret KOEHLER PISTEL died in the Baltimore,
MD, area while on a second visit to the US from Germany and she is buried
somewhere in that area.
Margaretha "Margaret" KOEHLER and Friedrich Pistel had five children:
Katherina PISTEL born: 4 Feb 1847
Johanna Barbara PISTEL born: 19 Dec 1848
Margaretha PISTEL born: 28 Jan 1851
Johann PISTEL born: 23 Jun 1854
Barbara PISTEL born: 3 Apr 1858
The PISTEL and KOEHLER families were from small villages south of Kronach,
Germany. The villages are named Wustbuch, Hinterstocken, Staibra and
Vogtendorf. I understand a man named Paul ULTSCH, a PISTEL descendant, still lives in
Wustbuch, Germany.
I'd be grateful for any info I can on these families.
