Hello,
I am looking for the area of where a name of STIEGELMEYER OR STIEGELMEIER
would have come from.
My great-grandfather was from around this area. His name was Frederich
William Stiegelmeyer, but may have changed it to that after arriving in America.
He was born in 1833 and census shows he immigrated in 1850 and settled in
Batesville, Indiana. Married a Catherine Maria Otte.
Any help is greatly appreciated,
