Between the late 1700's until mid 1900's (when we migrated to Australia) the KULESSA's lived in Silesia, primarily in the villages of Bodland and Borkowitz, but also in a number of smaller surrounding villages.
However, I have been made aware of information recently that points to my KULESSA family moving from East Prussia to Silesia some time in the 1700's. Unfortunately I do not have any more details.
A researcher in Poland claims that the Kulessa name retained the double S spelling (and did not change to today's very common spelling of SZ - Kulesza) in the region of Mazowse and north of that region - which could possibly mean East Prussia.
If anyone has any information - no matter how small -regarding the Kulessa family name, I would be most interested to hear from you.
Best wishes from Australia
