Struckmeier

I'm looking for Struckmeier's, who may know if they had a Christian
Frederick Struckmeier who arrived in NY, traveled to Illinois, in 1853.
Then, after being in the Civil War, he came to Washington (territory).

On the 2nd trip he brought his wife, Wilhelmine(Minnie) & Engel Marie
Eleondre Krentler, Christ (F.C.)Sharnhorst....They were all related in
various ways but we are unsure just exactly. But we do know exactly.

Christian Sharnhorst (was already at the their destination..spelling of his
last name is unsure. He was possibly, Minnie's uncle.

We've no idea from where in Germany they came from, but if someone is
seeking to find their family descendants there would be little double with
the combination of names and dates that have been acquired. Pls reply
here..or at deri.cartier@comcast.net, we would be excited for any leads
thank you, Deri

Hi Deri,

I've spent a couple hours here trying to find your family. I found plenty
of Struckmeier - even Christian Struckmeier--but could not find a Christian
Frederick Struckmeier. I finally got a little smarter and looked for
Krentler and I think I have it. They are listed in the Bückeburg archives:

Herkunftsort: Antendorf 1. Krentler, Eleonore 2. 3. 4. Witwe 5. mit Tochter
Wilhelmine 6. 7. nach Amerika 8. 7.4.1862 9. Wochenbl. 1862 S. 121

Herkunftsort: Segelhorst 1. Krentler, Wilhelmine 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. nach
Amerika 8. 14.4.1863 9. Wochenbl. 1863 S. 121

I know that looks a bit confusing, but the basic stuff is there, don't you
think? Antendorf and Segelhorst are small towns southwest of the city of
Hannover.

Here is how you find that information:

Go to http://aidaonline.niedersachsen.de/

Do a search in the box for Krentler. There are several returns for the
name, but your names show up in the first set. I think you can order the
records from the Bückeburg archives by writing to there email address:

Bueckeburg@nla.niedersachsen.de

You can also find some records for Christian Strückmeier, but I was never
sure I had the right set of names. There are a number of Struckmeiers in
those same Bückeburg archives. There is also a Hermann Krentler from the
same area listed below the other two.

That's it--I hope it is what you were looking for.

Barbara
