Stove and Dreveskirchen villages?

Is anyone familiar with the villages Stove and Dreveskirchen located near the
coast NE of Wismar in Mecklenburg? There was a large and growing LUETH
family there in the 1800's. Is there any one I can talk to about this area
of my ancestors?

For Dreveskirchen, I find the following films listed --069062 and 069063
beginning with 1653- 1921. You should be able to find more than your immediate
family this way. The other villages you mentioned might be smaller ones, but
records for them would still be on the films for Dreveskirchen. For some
churches, I have found more than 20 small villages included.
I have no family in any of those places. Good luck to you. At least there are
films.

Hello Larry Campbell--There is not a church listed for Stove, but there is a
Lutheran Church in Dreveskirchen and it has been filmed by the LDS Family
History Library. The record starts in 1653 and goes to 1921. Find your
nearest LDS (Mormon) Family History Library in Sacramento and have the
person that helps you go to the Fiche or Computer if they have one. Look up
Germany, then Mecklenburg-Schwerin, then Dreveskirchen and you will find the
film numbers. Brush up on your Taufen, Heiraten and Tote. (Baptisms,

Just to add to this comment. Stove is in the "Kirchspiel" (churchdistrict)
Dreveskirchen. You should find the churchbook entries for Stove on the film
for Dreveskirchen.

Kathryn, Thank you from all of us for those great church pictures. That adds
so much to our family histories. When I get more skilled I will try to copy
that picture into my computer genealogical program. It has the ability when I
can figure it out. Larry
