GREETINGS,
It must be close to Christmas as the post man is delivering us greetings
every day. For sure I am not ready nor do I know how to get ready but I
feel I must at least let my friends know Valerie and I are still around!!
So here goes my attempt at sending greetings to you and yours for a very
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
I turned 80 years of age this year in January and my family had a large
celebration for me. My wife Valerie also had a mile stone birthday in
July but I dare not say which one!! She too had a big celebration. She
is concerned that people will think she too is 80 but no..
I am still interested in Family History and manage to devote quite a bit
of time to doing that, it makes me feel that I am accomplishing something
and takes my mind off of the real responsibilities I should be taking
care of!!
We are feeling the effects of the economy slow down here in Nebraska and
my son Bill lost his job of 14 years in a down sizing effort and as of
today, has not found work. His wife Pam has a good job and they are
getting by. From listening to TV, I understand this economy slump has
affected much of the world. Here in the US there is a huge division
between the "Haves" and the "Haves Not" and it is becoming wider all the
time and the "Haves" are not interested in anything other than their
selves so no relief in sight.
I am happy the troops are coming home from Iraq but I wonder where they
will fit in this slow job market.
How are things at your house? I am hoping this greeting finds you well
and Santa treats you good and you are ready for the New Year.
I am sending this to many of my E-mail contacts for what ever reason and
I hope you will answer and update me on your familys.
For the Marhenkes on my list, I have never found a link to any of you in
Germany yet but I am still searching. All the best from our house to
yours.---Bob Marhenke---- I am also on Skype.
