I was wondering if the members were aware of the new test from Family Tree DNA, the Family Finder? It looks at autosomal DNA. I recently had myself
tested and I am very happy with the results. It's really helped me in my research.
I just wish that more people who have ancestry from East Prussia would participate in the test.
I turned to genetic genealogy because my mother was orphaned. My maternal line had been difficult to search at times. Family Tree DNA has the largest DNA data base so I thought I would give it a try. Initially, I only partook in the mtDNA test (my mother's, mother's mother...). No one from my maternal grandfather's line (surname David from Konigsberg) was alive to test. Now with autosomal testing, I could test myself as well as my sister and hopefully be able to find a connection to my grandfather's family. I hope more people will become interested in this area of genealogy and test.
