Spabruecken (was Spa Bruegge, Germany)

Hello Joseph Yakel,

as other listmembers wrote the place will be Spabruecken in Palantine (like
Bad Kreuznach that you had as Kreuznach and also Koblenz/Coblenz belongs to
Palantine).

I remember that in Spabruecken were a Catholic church for pilgrimage. As child
I accompanied my mother on such a pilgrimage. On the web you find a site
http://www.spabruecken.de/. Sorry but it is only in German. If you click on
the link "Strassenkarte" on the left side you get an overview where the place
is situated. You can assume that your ancestor were catholic.

This area where your ancestors came from had civil records before 1874 (Code
Civil)
For Bad Kreuznach there exists batch numbers
christenings = C 997541 (ev) 1632-1798
marriages = M 997541 (ev) 1632-1798 and
marriages = M 997712 (cath. St. Wolfgang) 1756-1796
Bad Kreuznach had also catholic churches Heilig Kreuz and St. Nikolaus.
For Koblenz (and sourrounding parishes) exists 28 batch numbers (all catholic
records).
To find out a refering batch number type in your searched name on the
familysearch site (IGI) and than click on the name. In the field source
informations you will find the batch number.

On the familysearch site this places were listed as belonging to Prussia but
the Rhineland was not always Prussia.

On the search site http://www.google.de/ I think you can find also sites for
Bad Kreuznach and Koblenz.

Last not least then you are not on the right list. But if you had any question
we will help you.

Greetings
Waltraud Render-Genilke

Dear fellowsearchers,
as Joseph Yakel had success in this list, it MUST have been the right
one.

Best regards,
