Dear members of hannover-list,

a little addendum to the discussion about "Plattdeutsch" we had. Todays newpaper
front page "Lneburger landeszeitung", 15./16.03.03, reports:(translation by HPA)

"Last marriage on "Platt": His 1770th and at same time last couple married the
89 year old councilman by honour Heinrich Benecke now in the Bardowick guild-
house. Since 1967 he hold this ceremonie "op Platt" - that it will give in future
not anymore." There follows a longer article inside the paper
Greetings Hans Peter Albers

Many thanks, Werner!

Yes, I've been in touch with Wilhelm Prante in Buer. But appreciate the other
addresses. I think I'll write to them and see what they might know.

I'm in pretty good shape with the Prante line. But I have nothing on my
g-g-grandmother, ne Sollmann. When I checked the Indana vital statistics site, I
remembered again why I haven't sent for a death certificate for her, According to
the online form, parents' names are not included on death certificates. So I
decided I'd just run the names I had up the flagpole and see if anyone might
salute.

Thanks again for your help.

Marilyn
