Hi,

Does anyone on the list have access to the church books of Sillium?
Or know where I might write for the records?

I am trying to find a little bit more information on my 3rd-Gr-Grandparents,
Christoph HARTMANN & Elisabeth NEHRIG, along with the birth record for their
son.

On my 2nd-Gr-Grandparents marriage record it says that he
(Joh.?) Frederick HARTMANN was born in Elbe. I have the book
"Ortsfamilienbuch Groß und Klein Elbe 1709-1875 mit Höfe- und Häuserbuch."
I find no record of him in it. I do find the marriage record of his
sister. I thought
perhaps he might have been born in the same place as she.

Hi Bobbi

In your HN posting re Sillium-Hartmann you indicated that you had the book 'Ostsfamilienbuch Gros und Klein Elbe 1709-1877'. I wonder if you could take a look to see if J.W.or Julius William Burgdorf shows up in the years 1820-1859. There is a possibility although remote that he may have been born, baptised, or resided there in that time frame. If you have already done this research for me disregard this request. Thanks very much.

     Do you ever use the LDS (Morman) records? There are films on Sillium:

Kirchenbuch, 1665-1874
Katholische Kirche Wohldenberg (Sillium) (Main Author)

   I don't know where you live, but these films are not available in Europe.

Yes, I have ordered films in the past. For some reason I just did not think

Hallo, liebe Mitforscher,
hier ein vielleicht sehr guter Tipp:
ich lasse oft von US-Mitforschern in Europa gesperrte Filme der "Mormonen" auswerten und spare damit sehr viel Geld, da die Archivbesuche meist unverschämt teuer sind! Nicht selten bekomme ich sogar die Filme auf CD/DVD gebrannt zugeschickt...
