Ship Laurel, John Coppel, Master

Sharon, I think I found the source of the info about the Laurel and her capt. John Coppel.
Online is a copy of an 1898 book called Life and Letters of the Rev. John Philip Boehm....
Ch. 3 begins on p. 20. It says an appeal to the Classis of Amsterdam made by PA churches in July 1728 states that John Philipps Boehm had come to America 'as early as 1720.' It says Boehm had served as Reader for 5 years and Pastor for 3 years, which 8 years would mean he was there by 1720. Th author looked at a copy of the American Weekly Mercury for 1720 and it showed the arrival of only one ship with Palatines in the harbor of Philadelphia -- The issue of 1 Sep 1720 stated that 'on the 30 [Aug] arrived the ship Laurel, John Coppel [captain], from Liverpoole and Cork with 240 odd Palatine Passengers'. It mentions that this is the first ship that the Mercury had listed with Palatines on them.
Too bad the paper ddidn't show a passenger list!
Have you found Philip KUNTZ in PA church records? He was of an age to still be having children. Was he the John Philip KUNTZ and wife who sponsored bapt of Philipp Christoph HENCKEL on 21 May 1740, per Rev. Stoever records? Henckel was from Monocacy (Berks Co, SE of Reading).
