Sent again

Werner,

I just sent it again. I don't know why your original message didn't show on
the previous e-mail. Let me know how this one looks.

Since Paul and Clemens were in East Germany they probably were unable to see
the rest of the family. The family picture I sent them was taken in 1910.
She did have one also.

My grandfather sent food packages to them in the late 1940's so they must
have been able to get mail. I'm anxious to see what they have to say in
their next letter.

I feel very close to these people because they are from the same blood I
came from. It's a dream come true for me as I've grown up wondering about
them and wanting to know them. My father was born in America and didn't
know much about the family in Germany. He was much younger than his brother
and sister who were born in Germany. Now they are all gone and I have no
one to answer questions.

I found my grandmother's family just 3 years ago. They live just NW of me.
One of them is a first cousin to my father and he was able to give me some
old addresses. My great uncle, Hans Franzmeier, stayed in Erder-Lippe when
the other 5 children came to America. I'm trying to find his living
descendants. I've mailed several letters to Franzmeier in that area and
have not had any luck.

I have a copy of my great grandfather Franzmeier's death certificate. I
also have a picture of my great grandmother whose maiden name is Leineweber.

One of my family has a Texas and Illinois license plate. I don't know if
your son would be interested in them. If I know what states he's interested
in I can get them for him. I do much traveling in the summer and fall
through many states and will look for what he wants. Maybe I can get one
while in Norway. I would mail it direct to him.

We are starting to get some warm, sunny days. The birds are out and
singing. This is my favorite time of year.

I watch Public TV because they show things from all over the world. The
best shows are from Germany featuring Orchestras and singers. Last year I
heard a 12 year old boy called Michael Junior. He was performing with an
orchestra in Manheim and it was most beautiful. This week they will show
James Last. He has his own orchestra and they are the best I've heard so
far. I don't know if he's German, but he is very good. Last week I watched
a performance from the giant stadium in Berlin. I think I get my love for
this music from my German blood.

Let me know if the last e-mail came through with all the information.

Judee

I must go to town and will be gone some time. We live on a farm so it takes
time to shop.
