A book about Oldenburg in English will be hard if not impossible to find.
However, try "Geschichte des Landes Oldenburg" by A. Eckhardt and H. Schmid.
This is a truly excellent book. My German is only average but with the aid
of a good dictionary I have managed to work my way through it. The book
covers the entire history of Oldenburg, is well illustrated, and includes
copies of old maps. Your local state library more than likely has a copy.
