taking the key-word "watchmaker" I checked: G.H.BAILLIE: Watchmakers & Clockmakers of the World Volume 1, London: Latest Reprint 1982 after First Edition 1929. Although the results for HATTORF are negative you might be interested there has been one HATHORN, John, Watchmaker 1755 in Lancaster and through the centuries lots of watchmaker HATTON in London.
