Searching for

Good Day,
I am searching for who was the secretary of the King
Friedrich II the Great. My first ancestor, who arrived
in Canada in 1781, was August Franz Glaubenskindt. He
crossed the ocean as a surgeon with the Chasseurs
Hesse-Haneau, accompanied by his servant. On his
release from the army his name appears at number 14
as: August Glaubenskindt. Later, on another document
he signed: Globinski and Globiski and one as
Glaubiski. Later the name became Globensky which it
still is.

In Berlin, on the birth certificate of his son
August-Franz, he signed as "Joseph Glaubenskind `
secretary of the King, (Friedrich II) on March 12
1782. The witnesses were: the Prince Locowitz
(Ambassador), Comte Coltsot, Doctor Nagell, Minister
Dosot and P.George Greeb (Professor).

We don't know much of Joseph Glaubenskind but we do
know that he was Secretary to the ambassador for
Catherine The Great around the same time. Anything you
have or information as to where I can find some things
will be greatly appreciated.

Regards
Serge Globensky

We have to know the German word for this title.
I suspect that a better translation is "royal secretary"
which would rule out the assumption of him being the "secretary of
the king".
