Gerhard Diedrich ULKEN was born October 4, 1891 in Halsbek, County of the Ammerland in northwestern Germany. He emigrated in September of 1913 and arrived in New York, NY on October 1, 1913.
In April of 1924 he lived in Dixon, CA. Between 1928 and maybe 1936 he was known under the name of George GIBSON in Dixon, CA.. His address could have changed to 705 Main Street, Roseville, CA in April 1938. He died on December 26, 1960 in Placer County, probably in or nearby Roseville.
Any information, why the name change took place in the U.S., would be appreciated.
