SCHOEN / SCHÖN of Lipton, Lobeschuetz, Silesia

My ancestor, Anton SCHOEN / SCHÖN, was born in 1821 in Lipton, County of Lobeschuetz, Silesia. He emigrated in 1852. I have exhaused all my map sources and cannot find Lipton. I realize it is probably in Poland today, but I do not know how it might be spelled in Polish.

Family lore is that Anton SCHOEN / SCHÖN was a tailor in his homeland, and that he made American Civil War uniforms after he immigrated to the United States.

I did find wonderful maps showing changing German boundaries over the centuries at:
http://www2.hu-berlin.de/fgp/territ.htm

Can anyone help me find this village? Is anyone else researching the SCHOEN / SCHÖN surname?

SCHOEN / SCHN of Lipton, Lobeschuetz, SilesiaThere is a great web site to
check on towns from Silesia and it also gives the Polish name, that is if
you have the correct spelling.

It is at:

I also have a book called, "A Genealogy Guide and Atlas of Silesia" compiled
from original maps by Otto and Vera Kowallis, copyright 1966.

I bought it through Everton Publishers.

I looked for your town and found:

Silesia
Town - Liptin (NO Lipton)
Kreis - Leobschuetz
County - Oppeln

Poland
Town - Lubotyn
Province - Opolskie
