I hope you can read my English, as I'm not able to write in German (only read, ein bischen...). Finnish or Swedish is OK for me but does not help you I guess.
Despite my very german name I'm from Finland (only working in Cambodia for a while). I'm reading (trying to read) this list for the reason of tracing my ancestors named Witte going the other way around, from OWP nort east, appearing in Kurland in late 1500/beginning of 1600, further to Estonia in mid 1700, from 1786 nobilized von Witte, then to St Petersburg about 1800 and finally to Helsinki 1820, finally to change the name to von Weissenberg in 1836.
I have reasons to believe that they originated from Kreiss Stuhm. Noticed you are searching th esame place, and might have some info. Ever come across the name Witte when searching Stuhm documents?
Any information about emigrants in the direction of Balticum would be highly appreciated.
