I am also researching the SCHALLA tree.
My Schalla ancestors immigrated from Westpreussen [West Prussia],
a province of Preussen [Prussia] in 1892. [This is now part of
Poland.] They went to Milwaukee, WI.
I have information on the Schalla line going back to
Gottlieb SCHALLA, b. 19 Feb 1801, d. 6 Aug 1855. He married Anna
SPLITTER, b. ca. 1801, d. Oct 1862. I do not know where
Gottlieb was born in 1801. Neither of their birth records nor
their marriage record are in the church books.
Their son, Carl SCHALLA, b. 1824, married Wilhelmine SEMP, b. 7
May 1828.
They married on 21 Oct 1849 at Klopschau, Westpreussen.
Their son Carl Friedrich August SCHALLA, b. 30 Mar 1859 at
Lamenstein, Kr. Dirschau, Westpreussen, d. 14 Feb 1929 at
Milwaukee, WI
m. 17 May 1885 at Schoeneck, Kr. Berent, Westpreussen to
Laura Emilie Klemm, b. 2 Jan 1864 at Schoeneck d. 6 Oct 1936 in
Milwaukee, WI
Their sons were
Erich Walter SCHALLA, b. 4 Feb 1888 at Gross Rosainen, Kr.
Marienwerder,
Westpreussen, d. 30 May 1966 at St. Petersburg, FL
Carl SCHALLA, b. 1890 at Gross Rosainen
Otto SCHALLA, b. 1893 at Milwaukee, WI
Erich Walter SCHALLA is my grandfather.
