For the newspapers from Milwaukee and where they are today, check (best to
look in a university library):
Arndt, Karl and May Olson. German-American Newspapers. History and
Bibliography. Heidelberg, Germany: Quelle & Meyer, 1961. Reprint New York:
Johnson, 1965. You need the 1st volume.
About Turnverein archives, I have a book in mind but need to check it first.
And here is the main Turnverein. There may have been others in Milwaukee, so
browse a little.
