You probably have found the relevant entries in the IGI (www.familysearch.org) already? It shows the entries from the British Census of 1881 reflecting the facts you describe below. But the IGI also shows the marriage of John/Johann Sass with Marie Diederichs on16.10.1865 and gives the place of marriage not as Hannover but as Neukirchen, Schwerin - Mecklenburg and the father as Christoph Friedrich S.(Batch Nr. 7429516). And Batch Nr. 2170008 shows the birth as *14.10.1832, Hohen- Luckow, Schwerin-Mecklenburg. You might want to try the Mecklenburg-L@genealogy.net also.
