I read with interest re Sailing Schools . My query applies to Prussia / Nord
Rhein Westfalia really but list members may have some tips for me -
my Brachmann grandfather was a sailmaker on famous German sailingships PAMIR
and ANTUCO c1900 - 1911 .
He was not from coastal town but from HALLE WESTFALEN - how would he have
become a sailor when he probably should have been a Kaufmann or farm worker
?
