Hallo Listenfreunde, dear list members ~
   
  We are just back from a trip to Massachusetts, Maine and Rhode Island. It was successful in
  that we now have the names of Maurices parents William and Sophie AND the names of Elizas
  parents August BETE and Henriette HELLER, who's grave site we were able to find/visit.
   
  Who can help us go further back to their respective parents, siblings, birthplaces, immigration
  to the US? Any and all help is much appreciated.
  Die gr�sste Schwierigkeit besteht bei den Geburtsorten, denn Saxen-Coburg und Hannover
  M�nden sind eher generelle Angaben zur Hehrkunft (stammt von Volksz�hlungen). Maurice
  arbeitete in der Webindustrie, und laut �berlieferung sollen die Vohrfahren auch so ihr Geld
  verdient haben und zwar in der N�he von Leipzig. Wer kann in diesem Bereich weiterhelfen?
  Wer hat historische Information �ber das Web-, Tuchmachergewerbe in Raum Leipzig??
  Habe leider im Internet nicht f�ndig werden k�nnen.

Hi,
if she was born on * 10 M�rz 1854 in Hann M�nden, Germany
you will find her birth documents in the church records of
Hann.-M�nden.
Heller and Bete are common names in Hann.-Muenden
(www.hann.-muenden.de)
and the small villages arround since 1500.

You will find too the mariage of her parents.

     If you look on www.castlegarden.org (a shiplist website) and use the
name of Bete, you will find the following:

   Aug. Bete age 46 Arrival June 8, 1872 Ship Weser from the port of
Bremen (no occupation listed and last residence unknown).
   Henriette Bete, age 43, Arrival June 8, 1872 (same)
