Riepe of Büren

Good afternoon,

I'm searching for the civil death record of my ggggrandmother, Anna Maria Elisabeth Riepe, wife of Johannes Arnold Martin Lappe. She died in Büren near Paderborn on 11 Feb 1878.

Would anyone know which archive the death certificate would be recorded and how I can go about getting a copy?

Thanks very much in advance.
Gruß aus Illinois

Dear Linda,

you should get in contact with the archive of the city of Bren. There you will get information if they have that certificate, or if it is archived elsewhere.

This is the link:
http://www3.gkdpb.de/koalis_nf/k_index.asp?adm_nr=3&gid=12&nummer=461

The website is in German only.

Usually, a copy of a death certificate costs about 7 EUR, but additional mailing expenses might apply.

Kind regards,
Jan (Schefers)

Thanks Jan. I'll try to reach them.

Hallo Heinrich,

Thanks for the tip. It looks like we have many Lappe/Riepe descendents in the USA!

A problem I have with Anna Maria Elisabeth Riepe is that her birth was illegitimate, and thus her father's name is not in the church birth record. The father's name also is not in the church marriage record. Most likely, it will not be in the death record., but I want to make certain.

B Rgds
Linda
