My name is Neil W. Suermann and I live in the St. Louis, Missouri area.
I am attempting to research my great-great-grandfather - August Suermann.
We believe that he was born in Muenster, Westfalen, on August of 1836. We
have found that he emigrated to the United States, leaving the port of
Bremen (on the ship Ferdinand) in 1864. He was a cigar maker. Family bible
records indicate that he was a member of the Lutheran faith.
I want to find records that would indicate his parents' names (and possibly
other family members). Any information regarding information, names, places
and addresses I can write to would be greatly appreciated.
