Hello,
I am new to the group and I was hoping someone could give me some ideas in researching my family. Unfortunately, I cannot speak or read German and I am having trouble proceeding with my research. Here is the information I have that has been passed down to me through the family - any tips or information would be greatly appreciated.
Karl Friedrich Prahl
Born: 11 Nov 1842 Tarnowke, West Prussia
Died: 2 Nov 1882 (a family letter states he died working on the railroad in Prussia)
Father: Daniel Prahl (Born in Petzien, West Prussia)
Mother: Louise Gollnich (Born in Farpen, West Prussia)
Karl Friedrich Prahl was Married to:
Henrietta Wilhemina Krueger
Born: 7 Apr 1844 in Krojanke, West Prussia
Died: 4 Nov 1902 - Chicago, IL
Father: Carl Krüger (Born in Smirdowo, Kreis Flatow, West Prussia)
Mother: Rosine Rotze
Children:
Gustav Prahl (BORN: about 1873 in W. Prussia)
Ida Bertha Prahl (BORN: 23 Nov 1875 in Flatow, W. Prussia – DIED: 8 May 1940 in Waukegan, IL)
Thedor Prahl (BORN: 28 Aug 1880 Flatow, W. Prussia – DIED: 16 Jul 1949 in Chicago, IL)
Immigration:
The family immigrated to America between 1892-1893
Religion: I am pretty sure the Prahl family were Evangelical Lutherans
I have located some good information on the Children listed above with the exception of Gustav. I am particularly interested in finding out more about Karl Prahl, his father Daniel Prahl and any (unknown) siblings of either, verification of birth and death. I am also interested in their wives families, Henrietta Kruger and Rosine Rotze.
Thank you!
David Prahl
