WHERE, WHEN, their FAITH or CONFESSION, and WHAT you need to know. A
precise village or town or city and an exact date of birth will move
mountains. Your inquiries need to be in the German language. There are

They have church registers from 1572, civil registers from 1798 - 1875, and
for the administrative division of D�sseldorf, Status of Persons registers
from 1834 - 1938.

genealogy library. If not: Church first, town second. If they don't have the
documents chances are they will forward your letter, or let you know (if you
tucked in $3 cash or German postage stamps for return or forwarding
