Requesting help finding ancestors

Hi, I am new to the list, but I hope we can be helpful to each other.

I am researching the Broeker and Marquart family from Hannover area. They were catholic, and the 2 sons John Martin Broeker 19 yearsold and older brother Gerhard Broeker emigtated to USA in 1849, settled in Missouri, Franklin county.
The parents stayed in germany, they were
Johannes Conradi Marquart and Maria Catharina Broeker. I understand she was to inherit property from her father, so her sons took the Broeker name, instead of Marquart.
I can not pin down the exact village this family in. All records in USA for John Martin only say Hannover or Prussia. And I cannot find the passenger lists for their voyage, to determine hometown.
Thank you.

Rita Broeker

Hi Rita:

Don't have much for you, except that you may want to drop the first e and put an umlaut over the for Brker.

The emigration book of former Kreis(like county) Lingen listed some Bröker (or Broeker), but not yours brothers.
This Brökers came from the parish Schapen. This is a catholic area in former Kingdom of Hannover.
There is not Marquart listed.
You shoul check the Schapen church books by LDS.
Good luck,
Werner

Hello Rita,
I've been searching around on the internet for your ancestors and I
came across a request you had put on another mailing list. You were
questioning where Wüllen is. Have you found that? There is a small village
in Westfalen close to the town of Ahaus. This area is fairly close to the
Netherlands border and not far from what was the Hannover area. The LDS has
Catholic church records for Wüllen and Ahaus. If I were you, I'd look at
those records. My map shows a church in Wüllen so I guess I'd start there.
Good luck,
Barbara
