Request for Information about Emigration from Hannover to Russia in the Mid to Early 1800's. Blacksmith Guilds (Innung)

Dear Subscribers,

I have two requests that some one may be able to help with.

(a) In the year 2005 I was in Hannover and went to the Archive to find out
any information about a person with the Surname of ASCHE, born in Seelze
near Hannover emigrating to Russia.
In our Family history mention is made of a ASCHE having participated in the
Crimean War and being buried in ISMALIA on the Donau river. My Grand Father
mentioned that as a child he had a visitor from Russia who was married to an
Uncle of his.
All the records, bar 10, where “gesperred” or locked. I don’t know the
reason for this.

(b) Most of my relatives living in Seelze where Blacksmith (Kleinkötners)
and as such they must have belonged to a Guild (Innung) or some other trade
body associated with the Blacksmith trade. Where are the records of such a
body kept? And how useful would such records be for Genealogical research.

Any general information would be appreciated so that I may look for further
information.

Regards
Holger Asche
