Request for assistance

Hi Paul and all,
as I am assuming that this is "Posen", I checked a search machine. It came
up with the name for a newsgroup that might help you there and the following
description:
http://feefhs.org/de/pos/posrl/posrl.html
"Background: Posen became a province of Prussia in the late 1700's when
Poland was partitioned by the German, Austro-Hungarian and Russian Empires.
Both ethnic Germans and Poles lived there during the 18th and 19th
centuries during this time when Poland did not exist as a country. Posen
again became a part of Poland after World War I in 1919. Remember that the
capital of the province of Posen is also named Posen. So this needs to be
repeated (Posen, Posen) if it was a place where a birth, marriage or death
occured in that city and province."
Maybe this is another option to search.
Best greetings from Canada,
