Regarding map/Oreinenbaum-Redersberg

Hello

maybe it would help if you could tell us the e x a c t spelling from the
marriage certificate - or send a scan, if you think we are wrong.

At the moment I see:
Oreinenbaum, Oreienbaum and Redersberg in your last mail
and:
Reidersburg, Reidersberg and Oreinenbaum in your first mail
(in Germany there is a large difference between Burg = castle and Berg =
mountain)

Two different spellings for "Oranienbaum" und three different spellings for
"Reideburg - district within the city of Halle/Saale" as I see it - and two
different years of marriage (1880 + 1881) - I don`t see any problem in the
WW II and the Russians - this aera was German and is German, names of towns
are the same 1880/81 and 2011, with the exception of annexation, than the
old name remains as district-name. I think the marriage certificate from
Halle verifies this.

Possibly the outdated Sutterlin old German writing-style could be a problem.

Christine

I do totally agree with what Christine has said here.

The area you're talking about has always remained German although for decades under
Russian occupation, but names of places have never been altered.

Also please do check the correct spelling, or as Christine suggests scan the documents.
Then she can carry on helping you for which she certainly deserves appreciation.

Regards
Ingrid
