THANK YOU to everyone for replying to my inquiry regarding Johann Friedrich
Lampe who died in Hoeltinghausen in 1849.
Several of you suggested Visbek parish as the next place to research. Dr.
Josef Mahlmann has indeed found this family in Visbek - Ertle. He has sent
me a wealth of information to begin reseaching, and I am ordering the
Kirchenbuch for Visbek from the LDS church for review.
Fortunately in the United States, it is possible to obtain for review the
microfilms of the original church books. They come to our local family
history center on loan, and you are allowed to use them there, even if you
are not a member of the LDS church. It is very helpful for my research.
Once again the Oldenburg List members have helped me overcome a "brick wall"
in my research. I am very appreciative of your efforts on my behalf.
