Refugees and Expellees

Hallo List

Has any one read The German Expellees: Victims in War and Peace by Alfred M. de Zayas What is in it? Does tell where the expelled Germans went in Germany? I have relatives on my mother side that where removed from the Gumbinnen area. I have been given info that they made it to German some where. The person will not or can not remember he got the info. The info came from The Schmidt Family Records. I can not find any info on this. ThanksDavid Manthei

David,

There is a summary of the contents of the book available in Worldcat. Here
is the direct link to it:

You're welcome. Another thought: there may be a library near you that owns
a copy. If you enter your zip code into Worldcat, it will display the
libraries nearest to you that have a copy. If no library in your area has
a copy, you may request your local public library to borrow a copy for you
to read via interlibrary loan.

You might also research the Heimatortskartei or contact the DRK Suchdienst to find specific family members.

Here is info on how to do that....
