Recker and Klostermann

Hello Debi!

The place where you look for is Greffen, today part of Harsewinkel. It is
southwest of Bielefeld in Westfalen. For more informations you should try the
Westfalen-Liste.

Best regards from a man who also have had family in Covington, Kentucky!

Gunter Jüchter, Hannover

Hello Gunter & Werner,

You both have provided wonderful news for my family. We have been unable to find anything about Angela Recker's family and now we have a place to start looking. This Oldenburg list is so great and so helpful. I look forward to visiting Germany and seeing the area's my Great Grandparents came from.

Gunter, Who were your relatives that lived in Covington and what time period were they there? Have you looked at the Kenton County Library online? They have a wonderful genealogy department and there is a great Kenton County list.....like the Oldenburg list.

Again, many thanks,
Debi Snow

Gunter,
Do you know the website for the Westfalen-Liste???

Debi Snow

I have Klostermanns among my family in Grossenkneten. I can share what I have on them, and a little from the outstanding history book about the town by Dierk Feye (what I can understand, the book's auf Deutsche and my German's not real great)

Any Klostermanns in the bunch of people who traveled from Grossenkneten to Columbus/Shell Creek, Nebraska?

Darren

Darren, I would love to see what you have on your Klostermanns. As far as I know....none of my direct Klostermann relatives went to Nebraska....mine went to Covington, KY but.....I am not sure about my GG Grandfather had many siblings and I don't know much about them. I don't know where Grossenkneten is in relation to Neuenkirchen, Oldenburg. There were other Klostermann families in Covington, KY that I am trying to tie in with ours.

I think the Kostermann's in Grossenkneten and Neuenkirchen/Damme have not any connetion:
- first, to far away for this time
- Grossenkneten are lutherans and Damme/Neuenkirchen are catholics
