Re: Wilke/Wilkie

Does anyone by chance have in there records a Benjiman Henry John
Wilke/Wilkie, born about 1833 and his wife Mary (Nielsen) Wilke/Wilkie, born
about 1844, somewhere in Mecklenburg. I believe they came to America about
1865/66 and settled in Clayton County, Iowa, from there they went to Greeley
County, Nebraska.

Trying to locate the village in Mecklenburg from which they orininated. Any
information will be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks, Bob

Hi Bob,

Have you tried looking for the ship? The passenger departure lists have the town
listed in Mecklenburg on the actual ship manifest record. This is how I found the
town for my KRUSE family, see my website below. They were from the Kreis Buetzow,
around the parish of Neukirchen of old Mecklenburg-Schwerin.

Let me know if you need any help finding the ship, or ship records.

Researching the following German surnames from Neukirchen Parish area:

Schroeder, Thode, Lehmann, Jenning, Koppelmann, Juerss, Sommer, Lange,
Adrian, Bahr, Bruhn, Benick, Buller, Dopp, Dau, Eickhoff, Engel, Freytag, Fick,
Fritz, Godemann, Hintz, Hinze, Karsten, Koepke, Knaack, Krohn, Koop, Kruael,
