thanks for your message!
I suppose the family came originally from the Netherlands, but there are
some points that made suggest that the Brazilian Vanderlindes came from
Germany.

First, they lived in a German settlement are in South in Brazil (there were
Dutch settlement areas as well, although they were founded a little bit
latter).

Second, there is an information from the "Liste der Ausgewanderten Familien
aus dem M�nsterland nach S�damerika" pointing that this couple, Heinrich van
der Linde and Catharina Wenning emigrated from Westphalia to Brazil in 1862.
For some families, this list of emigrants details the village were they
lived. Unfortunatelly, for this family this information is missing, as is
the precise date/place of birth.

Is this place (Scherpenzeel) close to the German border?
