Gretchen - after seeing the emails regarding your grandmother, I did a quick search of the Ellis Island passenger database. I found records for a George, an Elisabeth and a Regina Thoben. I did not view the records but you may want to. you may want to look at the Ellis Island database and see if any of these are your relatives. The database can be found at the link below and it is free to view the records - you just need to register on the site.
