I haven't seen an answer to your message, so I will throw in my two cents.
I have been corresponding with an individual from a small rural village in
Mecklenburg and from what he has told me, ownership of the land in his
village reverted to the families in possession of the land prior to the
changes made by the East German government (GDR). Those small farms are now
members of farming co-ops but still owned by the original owners. I don't
know if this is true in all areas of Mecklenburg or not.
