Hallo zusammen,
....and that is about the extend of my 'knowledge' of writing in german! Born in
Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and living in the Niagara area of Ontario, Canada, I
have been pursuing my family name's genealogy since 1979.
I'm looking for information and possible links on my family name, and its
variations, of H A S S E B R O E K. My forefathers, fleeing religious persecution
in France came to, among others the north-west of Germany in the 16th century. An
american branch, proven to be my cousins, came from the City of Leer.
If anyone has information on this family name or know of any link that I can go
to, I would appreciate your assistance.
I should mention that I don't have too much trouble to read the german language.
